History of Assaults
Since the beginning of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military personnel have been targeted within Moscow.
This latest event comes after other high-profile incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a device placed on a scooter was set off from a distance.
While a source from Ukraine in the past connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are rarely officially confirmed as a matter of standard practice.
The conflict has increasingly seen shadowy operations moving into the heart of the Russian capital.
The probe into General Sarvarov's death continues to be active.
