Former BBC Consultants Undergo Parliamentary Inquiry After Allegations of Partiality in Disclosed Memo
We begin with queries from Conservative MP the committee chair, who oversees the panel.
She commences by giving context to the disclosed document written by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.
"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it neutral, fair and just," he declares.
When asked if he thinks the BBC is structurally prejudiced, he responds: "No, I do not. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation creates is top-tier - encompassing factual and entertainment shows."
But he adds: "There is real work that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
A further ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation adviser examined by the panel, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it maintains a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" across fluid and multifaceted topics.
"Whether the BBC was ready to conduct a genuine dialogue and exchange and take action?" she reflects. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
